Real-time control is provided by two note variation sliders and two Q-Link knobs. This includes a wide range of effects algorithms, such as reverb, delay, bit grunger, chorus, phasers, flying pan, 4-band EQ, compressor, and a phase shifter. Two internal effects processors can be used simultaneously. This composition center is contained in one extremely powerful desktop unit.ĭesigned for professional audio production, the MPC2500SE’s intuitive and ergonomic interface makes it the ultimate user friendly composition studio. The unit allows you to sample more efficiently. The MPC is a rock solid sequencing and drum programming machine with 16 velocity and pressure sensitive rubber pads. Till they sort out an update, I will be sticking with my ReDrum, thanyouverymuch. The Akai Professional MPC2500 SE combines a 64-Track MIDI Sequencer with a 32-voice 16bit Stereo Digital Sampler. Unfortunately, they havent made the transition to OS X audio unit yet, but it is "on the way" (one of the few reasons I miss my PC ) Steeper learning curve, but GREAT sound and low CPU load. Having said that, my fave virtual drum machine of all time has to be DR008. I love how you can just click the up/down arrows as you press your pads and it changes your sound on the fly.(lets see the EXS24 do that!) But it gives me quick access to my massive sound library and most s FUN to use! Less mousing around and more PLAYING. Its not as powerful as, say Battery, or UltraBeat. I still use reason via ReWire just for the freaking simplicity of ReDrum. Right on the strip you have your basic controls.(pan, volume, decay, etc) which you can assign to Trigger Finger's knobs/faders. You get to load samples very easily.just load and play. Combined with M-Audio's TriggerFinger, it is an MPC killer! I may get flamed for saying this, but IMHO nobody beats Reason's drum machine when it comes to sheer playability.
